
The West Bengal Madhyamik 2026 results were officially declared on Thursday, May 8, bringing relief and excitement to lakhs of students across the state. Topping the examination this year is Abhirup Bhadra from Uttar Dinajpur, who secured an outstanding 99.71%. With results published just 90 days after the exams, the board has once again ensured a swift evaluation process.
This year’s Madhyamik examinations were conducted earlier than usual due to the state Assembly elections. The exams began on February 2 and concluded on February 12. According to Board President Ramanuj Gangopadhyay, a total of 9,71,625 candidates had registered for the exam, out of which 9,59,753 students appeared.


Among them, 9,01,724 were regular candidates. The gender-wise distribution shows 4,23,103 male students and 5,30,650 female students. Notably, a total of 131 candidates have secured positions within the top 10 merit list this year, reflecting intense academic competition.
Abhirup Bhadra, a student of Sarada Vidyamandir in Raiganj, Uttar Dinajpur, has emerged as the state topper with an exceptional performance, setting a high benchmark for future aspirants.
