TMC State President Subrata Bakshi Hospitalised After Serious Head Injury
TMC state president Subrata Bakshi was hospitalised in Kolkata after a bathroom fall caused a serious head injury and blood clot in the brain.

Senior Trinamool Congress leader and state president Subrata Bakshi has been admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata after suffering a serious head injury following a fall in the bathroom. Sources close to the veteran politician said he sustained internal bleeding in the brain, leading to clot formation, and doctors are preparing for a possible surgery within the next 24 hours.

The sudden health scare has triggered concern within Trinamool Congress circles, particularly at a time when the party is going through a politically turbulent phase after losing power in West Bengal.

According to sources familiar with his condition, Bakshi suffered the injury after slipping and falling at home. He was rushed to a private hospital in Kolkata, where medical examinations reportedly detected blood clotting in the brain caused by internal bleeding.

Doctors are closely monitoring his condition and are expected to take a final decision regarding surgery very soon. Hospital authorities have not yet issued any official medical bulletin.

Bakshi, one of the senior-most organisational figures in the Trinamool Congress, had reportedly become less active within the party structure in recent months. Political insiders claimed that even before the Assembly elections, his influence within the party had diminished significantly.

Sources in the party also suggested that Bakshi had little or no role in the finalisation of the Trinamool Congress candidate list for the recent Assembly elections, reflecting the changing internal equations within the organisation.

Those close to him said the veteran leader had been emotionally affected by the developments inside the party in recent months, though no official statement has been made on the issue.

The news of his hospitalisation spread quickly through political circles on Monday, with several leaders reportedly enquiring about his health condition.

Subrata Bakshi has long been considered one of the key organisational pillars of the Trinamool Congress and a trusted associate of former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. His health condition is now being closely watched by both party workers and political observers across the state.
