Dilip Ghosh to End His Bachelor Life, Ties the Knot with Rinku Majumdar in a Private Ceremony Tomorrow

The lifelong bachelor takes a bold step. Former BJP state president, ex-MP, and senior BJP leader Dilip Ghosh is all set to begin a new chapter in his personal life. On Friday, April 18, Ghosh will marry Rinku Majumdar, a divorcee and mother of one, in a small, private ceremony at his residence ‘Ideal Villa’ in New Town, Kolkata. The guest list is reportedly limited to just 15-20 close family members.

From Political Colleagues to Life Partners

Dilip and Rinku met through their association with the BJP. After Ghosh lost the 2024 Lok Sabha election, he was reportedly in a period of emotional low. It was during that time that Rinku proposed the idea of building a life together. Initially hesitant, Dilip was later convinced — especially after emotional appeals from his elderly mother and discussions with close aides. Interestingly, the relationship reached a formal agreement on April 3, while watching a KKR vs Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL match at Eden Gardens with Rinku and her family.

Opposition from RSS Faction, But Dilip Remains Firm

According to sources, some members of the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) expressed concerns about Dilip getting married. Two senior RSS leaders even visited his home to dissuade him. However, Ghosh stood firm and informed them that his decision was final and irreversible. Close aides describe this as another example of Ghosh’s fearless and independent nature.

A Low-Key Ceremony with No Political Invitees

Dilip Ghosh is known for his simple lifestyle and aversion to pomp and show. Hence, the wedding ceremony will be minimalistic and highly private. No senior BJP leaders or political colleagues are invited. Only family members and a few close personal friends will be present. Notably, Rinku’s son, who works in the IT sector in Sector V, was also at the Eden Gardens IPL match where the couple’s journey towards marriage began.

Family Responsibility and the Need for a Companion

Dilip’s mother has long wanted him to settle down so she could share her life with a daughter-in-law and ensure the family stays connected. With Dilip likely to play an active role in the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections, he will have to travel extensively. Having a partner at home is expected to offer both companionship and support for his elderly mother, who lives with him. Dilip, who turned 60 last year, seems ready to embrace this new phase of life with warmth and maturity.
