Sushanta Ghosh’s rise in CPM politics began in the late 1990s, particularly during the Keshpur conflicts. Prior to that, he was an MLA but had limited influence. However, his aggressive role in Keshpur helped him gain prominence in the party, and he eventually became a minister in Buddhadeb Bhattacharya’s cabinet.
