Precision fire assault near LoC destroys Pakistan-backed terrorist infrastructure after failed drone attacks on Indian cities

New Delhi, 10 May 2025: In a swift and coordinated military response, the Indian Army has pulverized several terrorist launchpads near the Line of Control (LoC) after Pakistan attempted drone strikes on multiple cities in Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab on the nights of May 8 and 9.

According to senior defence officials, the fire assault was meticulously planned and executed, resulting in the complete destruction of terror bases used to infiltrate militants and orchestrate attacks on Indian civilians and armed forces.

The Indian Army stated that these structures were not only operational hubs for terror but also posed immediate threats to national security.

“These launchpads had been repeatedly used in the past to push terrorists across the border. Today’s precision strike is a clear message that any provocation will be met with decisive retaliation,” said an Indian Army spokesperson.

Background: Pakistan’s Drone Strike Attempt

On May 8–9, Pakistan reportedly launched a series of drone strikes targeting civilian and military installations in Rajouri, Srinagar, and parts of Punjab. However, India’s air defence systems successfully intercepted most of them, averting major casualties.

The strikes were seen as a response to India’s earlier Operation Sindoor, where multiple terror camps inside Pakistan-occupied territory were targeted and neutralized following the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives.

Global Reaction and Strategic Implications

Military analysts and international observers have described the Indian Army’s counter-strike as a “strong but calibrated response” aimed at dismantling terror infrastructure without escalating into a full-scale conflict.

Global capitals including Washington, London, and Paris have urged restraint while quietly acknowledging India’s right to self-defence.

Official Message from the Indian Army: “India remains committed to peace, but our resolve to neutralize terrorism remains stronger. Any attempt to disturb our sovereignty will invite a prompt and proportionate response.”
