Veteran Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty has once again become the focal point of Bengal’s political discourse following his recent speech at a rally with Home Minister Amit Shah. Addressing the crowd, Mithun didn’t hold back, declaring that despite past setbacks, the BJP would persist with an unwavering determination to claim victory in Bengal’s 2026 elections. “After the results, I was deeply disappointed. But BJP never dwells on defeat. We will uproot them and bring them down on their own turf,” he asserted, a statement that has sent shockwaves through the political community in Bengal.
In his speech, Chakraborty expressed grave concern over what he called a growing “anti-Hindu sentiment,” claiming that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had not addressed this alarming trend. “We won’t discard them in the Bhagirathi because that river is our mother. We’ll defeat them on their land,” he passionately proclaimed.
Breaking from typical political rhetoric, Chakraborty’s call to action focused on loyalty and courage. “We need members who will fearlessly say, ‘Come at us; let’s see how many bullets you have!’ We don’t need workers who work for money; such people can join TMC,” Mithun declared. “If they take a piece of fruit from our garden, we’ll take four of theirs. This is the way to victory. They plan to intimidate Hindu voters from casting their votes, but if they do, we will make it difficult for their supporters to vote too,” he added.
The iconic actor emphasized that his remarks come not from the screen persona but from a political leader who has been part of blood-drenched politics since 1968. “This isn’t actor Mithun speaking; it’s the 28-year-old Mithun from 1968, someone who knows the field, the players, and their tactics. I need each of you to stand strong and advance courageously,” he said.
Outlining his commitment to BJP’s mission, Mithun shared that from November, he would dedicate 20 days per month to the party, reserving the remaining 10 days for his personal work. He underscored the necessity of hard work, stating, “If I don’t work, I won’t eat.” Beginning in March, he plans to traverse districts and villages across Bengal, aiming to mobilize support for BJP. “If we gather one crore members, the throne will be ours in 2026,” Mithun affirmed, highlighting BJP’s ambition to establish itself as Bengal’s ruling party.
This rally and Mithun’s statements underscore BJP’s focus on Bengal’s 2026 elections, with Chakraborty emerging as a significant voice in galvanizing support at the grassroots level.
