Mamata Banerjee Assures Support to Murshidabad Violence Victims, Govt Job to Martyred Jawan’s Wife

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, during an administrative meeting held in Suti, Murshidabad, announced several key decisions aimed at public welfare and administrative improvement.

In a heartfelt gesture, the Chief Minister declared that the wife of martyred army jawan Jhantu Ali Sheikh, who died in an encounter with militants in Jammu and Kashmir, would be given a government job in the Home Guard department. She also announced a ₹10 lakh compensation to the family and assured that the government will bear the educational expenses of the martyr’s children.


Symbolic Housing Keys Handed Over to Violence Victims

In the same event, Mamata Banerjee handed over symbolic keys to victims affected by recent violence in Murshidabad under the state’s ‘Banglar Bari’ housing scheme, showcasing the government’s commitment to rehabilitation and housing for the affected families.

₹718 Crore Allocated for 167 Development Projects

175 New Health Centres to Be Built

In a major boost to healthcare services in the region, Mamata Banerjee announced the construction of 175 new health centres in Murshidabad with a total allocation of ₹12 crore, aimed at strengthening the rural and primary healthcare infrastructure.


New Subdivision Office to Be Formed

In a significant administrative reform, the Chief Minister announced the formation of a new subdivision comprising Suti, Dhulian, and Farakka, to ease administrative workload and ensure faster service delivery to local residents.
