A senior police official confirmed that extraordinary security arrangements are in place throughout Jammu and the Valley. This includes strict control of areas around polling stations, ensuring safe passage for election personnel and the public on roads and highways. The official also noted that robust security measures have been implemented across Jammu and Kashmir to prevent any interference in the electoral process by terrorists and their supporters.

Given the vigorous campaigning by various political parties and candidates, there is an expectation of high voter turnout today. The previous two phases of elections were held on September 18 and 25, with the counting of votes scheduled for October 8.
