Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan following Operation Sindoor, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has issued a critical advisory for internet users across India. The official guidelines aim to ensure responsible online behavior, prevent the spread of misinformation, and safeguard national security during this volatile period.
In a post shared on the official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the ministry urged citizens to follow online safety norms and avoid falling prey to fake news or propaganda. The message read:
“Follow important online safety protocols. Keep cybersecurity standards in mind. Stay alert while using the internet. Don’t fall into traps or believe fake news. Be patriotic, stay alert, and stay safe.”

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has also issued an urgent advisory to all OTT platforms—such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+ Hotstar. The directive instructs streaming platforms to remove any content (web series, films, songs, or podcasts) that is either produced in Pakistan or contains themes that support or glorify Pakistan during the current national security crisis.
This move is part of a broader effort to maintain national integrity and prevent any digital content from creating confusion, unrest, or propaganda in favor of a hostile neighbor.
