
Siliguri, May 19: In a strong push towards promoting trade and industry in North Bengal, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today stated that the state is witnessing increasing industrial activity, and more is on the way. Speaking at a public event in Siliguri, she said, “Industries have already come to Bengal, and more will come. Opposition propaganda cannot stop Bengal’s growth.“
The Chief Minister stressed the strategic importance of Siliguri, calling it a unique city with entry points from multiple directions, making it an ideal location for industrial expansion. “People from all communities live here. Business is bound to grow in a place like this. We just need to identify the opportunities and act,” she added.

She noted that North Bengal holds immense potential for industry, and both the government and industrialists must come together to unlock it. This, she said, would naturally lead to more job creation and economic development in the region.
