Imminent Low Pressure Threat: Weather Changes Expected from Next Week

Low pressure is likely to intensify again, with weather changes expected across southern Bengal from next Wednesday, according to the Meteorological Department.

Low Pressure to Intensify: South Bengal to Witness Rainfall
A low-pressure system is expected to intensify, potentially transforming into a deep depression and heading towards the Odisha coast. As a result, southern Bengal is likely to see an increase in rainfall starting from next Wednesday, according to the Meteorological Department.

Today, Friday, scattered rain is expected in some districts of southern Bengal. Due to high humidity levels, discomfort may persist during the morning and afternoon. From Saturday, the weather will become drier, with reduced chances of rain and a decrease in humidity levels.

Light Rain Expected in North Bengal
In North Bengal, light rainfall is expected in the hilly regions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong. Scattered showers may also occur in districts like Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, and Alipurduar, while the rest of the region will experience dry conditions.

Weather Forecast for Kolkata
Today, Friday, Kolkata may experience light to moderate rain by the afternoon or evening. No heavy rainfall is expected, but the skies could become cloudy as the day progresses. From Saturday, the weather will turn dry, with reduced chances of rain and lower humidity levels.

However, by next Wednesday, Kolkata could experience light to moderate rain again. Today, the minimum temperature in Kolkata is 27.3°C, which is 3.1°C higher than the normal. Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 31.6°C, which is 1°C below the average. Humidity levels today range between 68% and 93%. The temperature over the next 24 hours is expected to remain between 25°C and 32°C.

The weather in South Bengal is set to change next week due to an intensifying low-pressure system, primarily impacting coastal areas and nearby districts.
