Heavy Thunderstorm Alert for 4 Districts between 8-9 pm! IMD Issues Warning for This Evening
On May 15, 2025, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert for intense thunderstorms with lightning, gusty winds, and rain

The weather is set to take a severe turn this evening across several parts of West Bengal. The IMD has issued an official warning stating that intense thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rainfall are likely to hit Birbhum, East Burdwan, Murshidabad, and Bankura districts in the next few hours.

As per the forecast, strong gusty winds reaching speeds of 60–70 km/h are expected to accompany the storm, which may disrupt normal life and pose risks to outdoor activities and farming.

Farmers are advised to protect their crops and avoid working in open fields. Emergency services and local administration have been alerted to stay prepared.

When Will the Storm Hit? According to IMD’s update, the storm is expected to begin from 6:09 PM today and continue for the next 2–3 hours, i.e., up to around 9 PM on May 15, 2025.
