Lt. Gen. Sumer Ivan D’Cunha asserts India has the military capability to strike across Pakistan, forcing their army to find deep holes to hide in.

Although the recent India-Pakistan tension has slightly de-escalated, a powerful warning has now come from the Indian side. Lt. General Sumer Ivan D’Cunha, Director General of India’s Air Defence Command, in an interview with ANI, declared that India has the capability to strike anywhere across Pakistan.

“The entire Pakistan is within our military reach. If needed, we can wipe out the whole of Pakistan. If their Army shifts headquarters from Rawalpindi, they will need to find deep holes to hide in,” D’Cunha said bluntly.

According to him, India possesses enough advanced weaponry and strike power to take control of the entire territory of Pakistan. No matter where the Pakistan Army moves—be it Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or anywhere else—they won’t be able to escape India’s radar.

This statement comes just days after India reportedly targeted several Pakistani air bases near the border in response to cross-border threats. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also claimed that the impact of these attacks reached Rawalpindi, the headquarters of Pakistan’s Army.

Lt. Gen. D’Cunha highlighted that Pakistan had launched nearly 800 to 1000 drone attacks along the western border over four days. However, due to joint efforts by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, all incoming drones were neutralized.

“Even though they targeted civilian areas, we made sure not a single Indian civilian was harmed,” he added, emphasizing India’s technological superiority and strategic coordination.

Background: Tensions escalated after the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which India blamed on Pakistan-based groups. In response, India launched a strategic counter-offensive on May 7, codenamed ‘Operation Sindoor’, destroying multiple terrorist camps inside Pakistan.

What followed was a four-day exchange of heavy fire between the two nations. Eventually, both sides agreed to a ceasefire, but the message from India’s defence establishment is now loud and clear.
