India Cripples Pakistan’s Airbases: New York Times Confirms Damage from Operation Sindoor
Satellite images validate India’s precision strikes; Pakistan forced to propose ceasefire after suffering major losses, says NYT.

In a major international revelation, the New York Times has validated India’s military success during Operation Sindoor, confirming that the Indian Air Force (IAF) inflicted massive damage on Pakistan’s critical airbases during a four-day military conflict. The NYT report describes the strikes as among the most devastating and precise military actions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours in the last five decades.

Using high-resolution satellite imagery, the American daily has confirmed that India strategically targeted and destroyed key Pakistani military infrastructure, forcing Islamabad to seek a ceasefire before a larger war could break out.

At the PNS Bholari airbase near Karachi, satellite photos reveal a completely destroyed aircraft hangar.

The most critical damage was observed at the Nur Khan Airbase, located near Pakistan’s military headquarters and its nuclear command infrastructure.

Additional damage was confirmed at Rahim Yar Khan and Sargodha airbases, particularly to their runways, crippling aircraft movement.

In fact, Pakistan officially admitted on May 10 that the runway at Rahim Yar Khan had been seriously damaged—a rare public acknowledgment.

🛑 Pakistan’s Claims of Retaliation Fall Flat

While Pakistan claimed it had retaliated by striking Indian airbases such as Udhampur and Adampur, the New York Times found no satellite evidence to support those claims. A high-resolution satellite image dated May 12 showed no damage at Adampur airbase.

The NYT quoted military analysts who confirmed that India’s use of drones and precision-guided missiles created overwhelming pressure on Pakistan’s defenses. It was these accurate, overwhelming attacks that compelled Pakistan to propose a ceasefire before further escalation.

In a symbolic gesture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Adampur Airbase post-conflict, directly refuting Pakistan’s false claims of having damaged the facility. His visit sent a strong political and military message, reaffirming India’s dominance during the operation.
