PM Modi addresses Brigade rally, promises New Bengal and attacks TMC rule.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed a massive gathering at Kolkata’s historic Brigade Parade Ground, delivering a strong political message ahead of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections. Beginning his speech in Bengali, Modi greeted the crowd warmly and claimed that the massive turnout reflected the people’s desire for political change in the state.

“Amar priyo Banglabashi, amar ontorer ontosthol theke pronam,” Modi said at the start of his speech, offering heartfelt greetings to the people of Bengal. Looking at the sea of supporters at the rally, he added that wherever he looked, there were people everywhere, calling the gathering an “extraordinary sight.”

During his speech, the Prime Minister promised that the Bharatiya Janata Party would work for the reconstruction of Bengal. He said that even though the BJP does not currently govern the state, the central government continues to contribute significantly to Bengal’s development. Modi announced that projects worth ₹18,000 crore had been inaugurated during the visit.

The Prime Minister also launched a sharp attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress government, describing it as a “cruel government.” He claimed that voices demanding a BJP government were rising from every corner of West Bengal.

Modi alleged that attempts had been made to disrupt the Brigade rally by restricting movement and stopping vehicles on bridges, but said the authorities could not stop the massive turnout of supporters.

“Now the countdown has begun,” he declared. “The era of jungle raj in Bengal will end, and the rule of law will return. Those who break the law will be identified and held accountable.”

His remarks drew loud cheers from the BJP supporters present at the Brigade Parade Ground, with party leaders projecting the rally as a key political moment ahead of the upcoming state elections.
