IMD Predicts Snowfall and Rain in Darjeeling While South Bengal Enjoys Pleasant Spring

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted fog, rain, and even snowfall in the higher reaches of Darjeeling. According to the latest weather update, Darjeeling is likely to witness snowfall between Thursday and Saturday, influenced by the weather conditions in Sikkim. Other North Bengal districts may experience fog and light rain, while South Bengal is expected to remain dry for now.
Dense Fog and Rain Expected in North Bengal
As per the Alipore Meteorological Department, districts like Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri will experience foggy mornings on Tuesday and Wednesday. Fog is also expected in Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, and North Dinajpur. Due to the snowfall in Sikkim, the possibility of snowfall in Darjeeling’s higher altitudes has increased.

South Bengal to See Rising Temperatures
Unlike North Bengal, South Bengal will not experience any rainfall. However, morning fog is expected in coastal districts like South 24 Parganas and East & West Midnapore. Kolkata may also witness light fog in the early hours, but the sky will remain clear as the day progresses.
