Rain Expected in South Bengal Due to Cyclonic Circulation Over Bay of Bengal: Temperature Steady Across Bengal
As winter slowly approaches, the Alipore Weather Office has forecasted rain in parts of South Bengal. A new cyclonic circulation has formed over the Bay of Bengal and is likely to develop into a low-pressure system by Wednesday. While this system is expected to move towards the Andhra and Sri Lanka coasts, it will bring light to moderate rain to districts in South Bengal.
Cyclonic System to Bring Rain to South Bengal, Minimal Temperature Changes Expected
The cyclonic circulation is expected to increase moisture in the atmosphere across parts of South Bengal, leading to rain on Wednesday, primarily in East Medinipur and South 24 Parganas. Intermittent showers are also predicted in West Medinipur, North 24 Parganas, and Kolkata. The rain is not expected to be heavy, with only light to moderate showers forecasted.
Meanwhile, temperatures across Kolkata and other districts are expected to remain steady. This week, Kolkata’s maximum temperature will likely hover around 30-31°C, while the minimum temperature may stay close to 24-25°C. South Bengal is not likely to experience any major changes in temperature for the next few days, meaning cooler winter temperatures may still be a while away.
North Bengal Weather Update
In North Bengal, districts like Darjeeling and Kalimpong may experience light to moderate rainfall as well, with rain predicted across all northern districts on Wednesday. However, no heavy rain is anticipated. Similar to South Bengal, temperatures in North Bengal are expected to remain stable without much fluctuation.
