"India Will Retaliate, Never Trust Modi": Imran Khan Warns From Jail Amidst Rising Tensions

Former PM Imran Khan sends out a cautionary message through his sister, praises Pakistani Army, slams India’s alleged "cowardly attacks"

As tensions flare between India and Pakistan, former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has issued a strong warning from prison, claiming that India may launch a retaliatory strike and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi cannot be trusted under any circumstances.

This serious warning was delivered via Imran’s sister, Aleema Khan, who recently visited him in jail. His message was later published from his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, although Imran himself does not directly operate the account due to his incarceration.

⚠️ Imran’s Warning: “Modi Will Surely Retaliate”

Quoting Imran Khan, Pakistani news outlet Dawn reported:

“Given the current situation between India and Pakistan, swift responses are essential. Pakistan must remain alert. Modi will definitely retaliate.”

He also praised Pakistan’s military, stating:

“This country is mine, and so is the army. I’ve always said that. Our forces defeated Modi on both land and in the skies.”

🛑 Imran Calls Indian Attack “Cowardly”

Imran alleged that India had targeted Pakistani civilians. He remarked:

“India’s cowardly attack harmed many innocent families in Pakistan. But our Air Force responded brilliantly.”

Pakistan has claimed that during India’s “Operation Sindoor”, civilians and religious sites were hit, though India denies these allegations, asserting the strikes specifically targeted terrorist camps.

🔥 Operation Sindoor vs Operation Bunyān-an-Marsūs

The tensions intensified after the 22 April terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, which India blamed on Pakistan-backed militants. In response, India launched Operation Sindoor on 6 May, targeting terror hideouts inside Pakistani territory.

Pakistan retaliated by launching Operation Bunyān-an-Marsūs, attacking Indian border areas, including parts of Jammu & Kashmir. However, most attacks were intercepted by India’s air defense systems.

📞 Ceasefire Followed by Military Hotline Call

After days of intense shelling and air activity, both countries agreed to a ceasefire on Saturday. From Sunday, the situation has remained largely stable. On Monday, the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMO) from both countries also communicated via military hotline to de-escalate the situation.

Despite the ceasefire, Imran Khan fears further Indian retaliation and believes that Pakistan must stay on high alert.
