Karwa Chauth, an important festival for married women, is celebrated on the fourth day of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Kartik. According to astrologer Sudip Shastri, wearing sarees based on one’s zodiac sign on Karwa Chauth can bring love and happiness into life. He suggests that women follow the colors associated with their zodiac signs while celebrating this special day, which falls on October 20 this year.
Traditionally, Karwa Chauth is marked by a day-long fast, where married women refrain from eating or drinking water, known as “nirjala vrat.” They break the fast only after sighting the moon and offering prayers for their husbands’ longevity.
