Just three and a half hours after India and Pakistan officially announced a ceasefire, Pakistan violated the agreement with heavy cross-border firing and a coordinated drone attack attempt on Indian cities. On Saturday evening, Pakistani forces opened fire at 11 locations along the Jammu border, drawing immediate retaliation from the Border Security Force (BSF).
9 Indian Cities Targeted by Drones — All Neutralized
At approximately 8:30 PM, Pakistan reportedly launched drones targeting nine Indian cities, including areas in Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab. However, India’s air defense system successfully intercepted and neutralized all drones, preventing any damage or casualties.
Blackouts in Sensitive Locations
In response to the escalating threat, authorities enforced blackouts in Srinagar, Udhampur, Kargil, and even at the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar, Punjab — as a precautionary measure against aerial attacks.
Omar Abdullah’s Alarm: “This is no ceasefire”
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his concern, posting:
“What the hell just happened to the ceasefire? Explosions heard across Srinagar!!!”
Shortly afterward, he posted a video showing Pakistani drones flying over Srinagar and wrote:
“This is no ceasefire. The air defence units in the middle of Srinagar just opened up.”
