As November progresses, the anticipated winter chill remains absent in South Bengal, with temperatures holding steady in several districts. According to the Alipore Meteorological Department, warm days persist due to high humidity, causing mist and fog in certain areas during early mornings, while the afternoons turn unseasonably warm. The weather department indicates that light to moderate rain is expected in East Midnapore and both North and South 24 Parganas, although no heavy downpours are forecasted.
This week’s weather is expected to remain mostly dry across Bengal, with minor rainfall forecasted in isolated areas. A moderate influx of moisture from the Bay of Bengal is leading to slight precipitation in some regions. However, the dry conditions are likely to dominate until Saturday, with another chance of light to moderate showers predicted for November 10.
In western districts, mild winter-like conditions have started appearing in the mornings, though significant winter cooling is not expected until mid-November. For Kolkata, the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 30-31°C, while the minimum temperature may stay near 24-25°C. There is no substantial temperature variation expected across South Bengal for the next four to five days.
Northern districts will also experience relatively stable temperatures, with limited changes expected in the coming days. Parts of North Bengal, especially Darjeeling and Kalimpong, may see light to moderate rainfall on November 10, with further light rain forecasted early next week on Monday and Tuesday. Most other areas in North Bengal are expected to remain dry with clear skies.
