Abhishek Banerjee’s Strong Message from Netaji Indoor: No Compromise on Party Discipline, 215+ Seats Target for 2026

Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee delivered a strong message from Netaji Indoor Stadium, emphasizing the importance of party discipline, grassroots mobilization, and unwavering commitment to securing over 215 seats in the 2026 West Bengal Assembly Elections. Addressing party workers and leaders, he made it clear that personal interests must not override party unity and that any form of betrayal will not be tolerated.

No Tolerance for Indiscipline and Internal Betrayal

Abhishek Banerjee warned TMC leaders at all levels, from MLAs to block leaders, about the need to remain focused and disciplined. He stated,
“I want to tell all our leaders, from MLAs to block-level workers, there should be no slackness in work. BJP is constantly trying to pollute Bengal. We must be prepared for the 2026 battle. Our leader (Mamata Banerjee) had predicted that we would come to power with more than a two-thirds majority. I say, we must secure over 215 seats. We cannot give away even an inch of land.”

He also took a dig at those within the party who, according to him, are trying to stay relevant through media attention rather than actual work.
“Some leaders are making statements just to stay in the media. This should not happen. In trying to showcase your power, you are weakening the party. I had earlier identified traitors like Mukul Roy and Suvendu Adhikari. This time, I take the responsibility of exposing any betrayers again. Instead of engaging in politics over WhatsApp, leaders must work on the ground and stand by the people.”

Focus on Grassroots Welfare and Mass Mobilization

After the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Abhishek Banerjee remained largely absent from public political activities, dedicating himself to his parliamentary constituency, Diamond Harbour. Addressing this, he said,
“After the Lok Sabha elections, I could not sleep for three months. The immense love and trust people have given me—I must repay that. That’s why I initiated the ‘Sebashray’ (Service Shelter) program in Diamond Harbour.”

Sending a clear message to party leaders, he asserted,
“Power should not be confined to a few individuals. We must take people-centric programs to every household. This is our ultimate goal.”

Political analysts believe that Abhishek Banerjee’s speech sets the roadmap for TMC’s 2026 election strategy, highlighting party discipline, aggressive countermeasures against BJP, and a renewed focus on grassroots welfare programs.
